Life is What Happens To You While You're Busy Making Other Plans - John Lennon
About
Hello! We live in a small rural Nebraska town, population 955. I am a 5th grade teacher, entrepreneur, wife, mother to two young boys, and a dog and cat mom. If I wasn't busy, I don't know what I'd do with my life.
I live in central Nebraska with my husband, two sons, two dogs, and two cats. (We like even numbers. Ha!) I've been married to my husband, Tyler, for 9 years. We love hunting, working on our house, and tending our garden together.
Easton, my red-head, is six years old and loves anything to do with Minecraft and building. I swear he's going to be an engineer one day, but he says he wants to be a farmer. He's the reason for our fiesty calico, Mittens. He helped rescue her as a 5 week old kitten from a trash can. The rest is history.
Case, our youngest, is three. He's growing up way too fast trying to follow in his brother's footsteps. He loves everything Peppa Pig, and seems to partake in his brother's love of Minecraft as well. He likes cooking up "steak sandwiches" outside on his play grill; a grate sitting on his wagon.
I have 54 energetic, eager, and inspiring kids this year. I'm the science expert in our upper elementary; teaching three sections of science. I have a passion for STEM learning and incorporating the outdoors into the classroom. Right now, 190 Rainbow Trout fingerlings are cohabiting our classroom until May, when they will be released into the wild. I'm also the elementary quiz bowl coach. I have a team of 10 kids that work hard and dedicate their time to learning all of the random trivia that would make you question, "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?"
When I'm not at school, I love playing the piano, baking, working around the house, and refinishing old furniture. During the summer, you can find me somewhere in Nebraska with my family in our camper with a line in the water waitin' on a catfish.
